Mahindra XUV 3XO is a sub-4 metre SUV that represents a significant advancement in Mahindra's lineup, serving as the successor to the popular XUV 300. This new model is designed to cater to the growing demand for compact SUVs in the automotive market, particularly in urban environments where space and manoeuvrability are essential. The XUV 3XO combines modern design elements with robust engineering, ensuring that it meets the expectations of contemporary drivers who seek both style and functionality in a vehicle.
With its compact dimensions, the XUV 3XO is ideally suited for navigating through city traffic while still offering a spacious interior that can comfortably accommodate passengers and cargo alike. The vehicle is expected to feature a range of advanced technology, safety features, and powerful powertrains, making it a competitive option in the crowded SUV segment. As a successor to the XUV 300, the XUV 3XO aims to build on the strengths of its predecessor while incorporating feedback from consumers to enhance overall performance and user experience.

If you're considering purchasing the Mahindra XUV 3XO and are unsure about which variant to select, this article will assist you in choosing the right one based on your preferences as it includes a comprehensive breakdown of the XUV 3XO variants.
Mahindra XUV 3XO Transmission and Fuelling Options:
The XUV 3XO comes with three engine choices and three transmission options. The first engine choice is the 1.2L (TCMPFi) mStallion Turbo Charged Multi Point Fuel Injection petrol engine (TCMPFi), available with a 6-speed manual transmission across five variants: MX1, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, and AX5.
Among these 5 variants, the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission (AT) is offered in 4 variants, excluding the base model MX1.
The second engine option is the 1.2L (T-GDi) mStallion Turbocharged Intercooled Gasoline Direct Injection Petrol Engine, available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission (AT), and is offered in only three variants: AX5 Luxury, AX7, and AX7 Luxury.
The third engine choice is the 1.5L CRDi Diesel Engine, which is available with a 6-speed manual transmission in seven variants: MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX7, and AX7 Luxury.
The diesel engine featuring a 6-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), referred to by Mahindra as AutoShift+, is available exclusively in three variants: MX3, AX5, and AX7.
Mahindra XUV 3XO Pricing:
The Mahindra XUV 3XO with the TCMPI petrol engine (Option 1) is priced starting at Rs 7.99* Lakhs for the manual transmission, reaching up to Rs 11.19 Lakhs* ex-showroom. The automatic transmission variant begins at Rs 10.39* Lakhs and extends to Rs 12.69 Lakhs*.

The XUV 3XO equipped with a T-GDi petrol engine is available starting at Rs 12.44 Lakhs* ex-showroom for the manual versions, with prices reaching up to Rs 13.99 Lakhs*. In contrast, the XUV 3XO T-GDi AT is priced between Rs 13.94* Lakhs and Rs 15.56 Lakhs* ex-showroom.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO Diesel manual is priced starting at Rs 9.99* Lakhs ex-showroom and can go up to Rs 14.99 Lakhs*, whereas the XUV 3XO Diesel AMT is available from Rs 11.79* Lakhs ex-showroom to Rs 14.49 Lakhs*.

Mahindra XUV 3XO MX1 Features:
The MX1 version of the XUV 3XO serves as the entry-level model, available solely with a 1.2L TCMPi Petrol engine paired with a 6-Speed Manual Transmission. The features it provides are listed below:
Bi- Halogen Projector Headlamps
LED Signature Lamp with Turn Indicators
LED Indicators on ORVMs
LED Tail lamps
6 Airbags
ABS, EBD & ESC
ISOFIX child Seat Mounts
Electrically Adjustable ORVMs
Smart Steering Modes
All 4 Power Windows
3 Point seat belts for all passengers
One Touch Auto down driver side window
Driver armrest with storage
60:40 Split rear seat
Rear AC Vents
Front 12V power outlet & A type USB
C type USB port at rear
Adjustable Rear Seat headrests
Trumpet Horn
Rear Parking Sensors
Seatbelt reminder for all passengers
Height adjustable front seat belts
Despite its low cost, the MX1 variant is well-equipped for an entry-level version of a sub-4 metre SUV as it provides all the essential basic features necessary for safety, comfort, and convenience.
Furthermore, the price of the Mahindra XUV 3XO base model MX1 matches that of all its competitors, yet it provides significantly more features than any of them, making it a highly attractive option for someone who is looking to buy a petrol powered sub-compact SUV with a manual transmission under 10 Lakh Rupees.

Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Features:
The next variant, MX2, is available only with a diesel engine and features solely a 6-speed manual transmission, providing just four extra features compared to the MX1 variant which are as follows:
26.03cm Infotainment system with 4 speakers
Steering Mounted Audio controls
Remote Keyless entry
Follow-me-home headlamps
The MX2 variant of the Mahindra XUV 3XO is priced comparably to the diesel base models of its alternatives, and its features are also quite similar. However, I recommend opting for the next variant, the MX2 Pro, as an entry-level diesel option instead of the MX2. By paying an additional cost of Rs 40,000*, you will get a single-pane sunroof and full wheel covers, which will surely increase the wow factor of the diesel base model.
Mahindra XUV 3XO MX2 Pro Features:
The MX2 Pro variant is the second variant of the XUV 3XO for both petrol and diesel, priced approximately Rs 1,40,000* more than the base model MX1 petrol and Rs 40,000* more than the MX2 diesel. It is also the entry-level variant for Petrol Automatic.
In addition to the features of the MX1, the MX2 Pro also offers:
26.03cm Infotainment system with 4 speakers
Steering Mounted Audio controls
Remote Keyless entry
Follow-me-home headlamps
Single Pane Electric Sunroof
Full Wheel covers
Among the six additional features of the MX2 Pro compared to the MX1, four of these features can be retrofitted into the MX1 for nearly half the price difference between them.
I don't recommend retrofitting the sunroof; the price has been mentioned just for your reference.
Hence, upgrading from MX1 to MX2 Pro in petrol is not advised, as the extra cost of Rs 1,40,000* for MX2 Pro over MX1 is not justified. However, you may consider purchasing the MX2 Pro variant if you're interested in an entry-level petrol automatic or a diesel manual version of the XUV 3XO.
Mahindra XUV 3XO MX3 Features:
The next version MX3 is around 50,000* Rupees costlier than the MX2 Pro and it additionally gets three features:
26.03cm HD Infotainment system with 4 speakers, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
Cruise Control
Wireless Phone Charger.
Mahindra XUV 3XO MX3 Pro Features:
The MX3 Pro model, succeeding the MX3, is priced Rs 50,000 higher and includes 4 additional features compared to the MX3.
Bi-LED Projector Headlamps
LED DRL’s with front turn indicators
Infinity LED Tail Lamps
R16 Stylised Vector Wheels
However, the next variant AX5 is Mahindra XUV 3XO's most value for money variant.
Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 Features:
For an extra Rs 1,20,000* compared to the MX3 Pro, the AX5 variant includes the following features in addition to those of the MX3 Pro:
HD 26.03cm Infotainment System , Adrenox connect with built-in Alexa, Online Navigation, Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
26.03cm Digital Instrument Cluster
R16 Diamond Cut Alloys
Dual Zone Climate Control
Rear View Camera
Push Button Start Stop
Leather wrapped Steering & gear knob
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
Electrically Foldable ORVMs
Height Adjustable Driver Seat
Rear Armrest with cup holders
Auto Headlamps & Auto Wipers
Rear Wiper, Washer & Defogger
Roof Rails & Rear Spoiler
One touch auto up driver side window
The XUV 3XO AX5 offers 18 more features than the MX3 Pro variant, making it the most cost-effective option in the XUV 3XO lineup. It combines essential basic features with numerous additional and some premium features, enhancing comfort, convenience, safety, and style. The AX5 variant provides a feel of a top-end model to a certain degree, while maintaining a balanced price-to-features ratio.
If your budget permits, you should certainly choose the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 variant, which comes in petrol manual, petrol automatic, diesel manual, or diesel automatic options.
The AX5 variant is the final option that includes a 1.2L TCMPi petrol engine. From the next variant onward, only the T-GDi petrol engine and diesel engine options are available.
Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 L (Luxury) Features:
The AX5 Luxury serves as the entry level model for the more powerful 1.2L T-GDi petrol engine and does not come with a diesel option.
In addition to a stronger petrol engine, the AX5 L provides five features beyond those of the AX5 at an extra cost of Rs 1,25,000*, which include:
Level 2 ADAS
360 Camera with Blind View Monitor
Auto Dimming Inside Rear View Mirror
Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold
Cooled Glovebox
Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7 Features:
However, if you are looking to buy a more powerful petrol XUV 3XO at an affordable price, then consider buying the AX7 instead of the AX5 L because, at an extra cost of just Rs 12,000*, you will get a more premium and feature-loaded XUV 3XO. The additional features of the AX7 over the AX5 are as follows:
Panoramic Sunroof
Harman Kardon Premium audio with amplifier and subwoofer
Soft Touch Leatherette in dashboard and door trims
Leatherette Seats
R17 Diamond Cut Alloys
Auto Dimming IRVM
LED Front Fog Lamps
Cooled Glovebox with illumination
Front Parking Sensors
65W USB C Fast Charger
Be it an automatic transmission or a manual, I would rate AX7 as the best variant of Mahindra XUV 3XO to buy with the T-GDi petrol engine option.
For the diesel manual or automatic XUV 3XO, it's best to choose the AX5 variant for optimal value and If you want additional features and are willing to spend more, consider the top model AX7 L instead of the AX7 for the diesel engine XUV 3XO.
Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7 L (Luxury) Features:
The AX7 L with a T-GDi petrol engine is approximately Rs 1,43,000* more expensive than the AX7, while the AX7 L with a diesel engine costs around Rs 1,30,000* more than the AX7. In addition to the features of the AX7, the AX7 L provides:
1. Level 2 ADAS
2. 360 Camera with Blind View Monitor
3. Auto Dimming Inside Rear View Mirror
4. Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold
